How we scored it
Glutamic acid (fermentation amino acid) + Zn (natural mineral ion) — both natural → 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Glutamic acid from fermentation, as in MSG production, combined with a zinc mineral salt. No petrochemical alternative exists for either fragment.
In plain English
A zinc salt of glutamic acid, an amino acid made by fermentation. Used as a deodorant and skin-conditioning ingredient that also supplies zinc.
