How we scored it
Whole ground grape seed = botanical powder (/instruction convention). Supplied formula/IUPAC (linoleic acid) contradicts the 'powder' description; description trusted per instructions.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Made by drying and grinding grape (Vitis vinifera) seeds left over from winemaking or juice pressing. No synthetic route; the linoleic-acid formula supplied appears to be a data mismatch.
In plain English
A mild abrasive and emollient made from dried, ground grape seeds, a winemaking by-product, used in scrubs and creams to smooth and condition skin.
CosIng definition: Vitis Vinifera Seed Powder is the powder obtained from the dried, ground seeds of the Grape, Vitis Vinifera L., Vitaceae
