How we scored it
Botanical flower extract: all mass is plant-derived (n = 1). Extraction solvent leaves no counted mass. Natural mass 100% of total, NOI = 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant feedstock is the dried flower of Trachyspermum ammi, extracted with water, ethanol or a glycol/glycerin mixture and concentrated. No synthetic route exists; carriers such as glycols, if used, are declared separately on the label.
In plain English
An extract of the flowers of ajwain (Trachyspermum ammi), a spice plant of the carrot family, used in oral care products. The flowers are extracted with a solvent and concentrated, so it is wholly plant-derived.
CosIng definition: Trachyspermum Ammi Flower Extract is an extract of the flowers of the Trachyspermum ammi, Umbelliferae
