How we scored it
Steviol glycoside extracted directly from stevia leaves; botanical extracts/isolates are defined as 1.0 by this site's convention.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Stevioside is extracted and purified from the leaves of the stevia plant using water or solvent extraction. No synthetic feedstock is used.
In plain English
A sweet-tasting compound used in oral care and flavoring, extracted directly from the leaves of the stevia plant.
