How we scored it
Callus cell mass grown in culture; medium nutrients and growth regulators leave no mass in the extract. All atoms come from plant cells: natural 100% / total 100% = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant route is plant cell culture, in which potato callus is grown on a sugar-based medium, harvested and extracted. The alternative of extracting field-grown potato material is also natural, so the value does not change.
In plain English
A plant-cell ingredient used for skin conditioning. It is made by growing potato cells (callus) in a laboratory culture, then extracting them, instead of extracting whole potato plants.
CosIng definition: Solanum Tuberosum Callus Culture Extract is the extract of a culture of the callus cells of the Potato, Solanum tuberosum L., Solanaceae
