How we scored it
Inorganic condensed phosphate salt from phosphate rock and soda ash; both mineral-derived, no organic carbon.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Manufactured by heating sodium phosphate derived from phosphate rock until it cyclises into the trimetaphosphate salt. Both the phosphate and sodium components are mineral in origin.
In plain English
A mineral salt made from phosphate rock, used to bind metals and buffer pH in formulas. It is entirely mineral-derived.
