How we scored it
Inorganic mineral salt (Na and sulfide, mineral origin, n=1); given formula/MW (HNa2S+, 79.06) is an odd PubChem artifact vs Na2S=78.04. 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Sodium Sulfide is manufactured from mined sulfur and sodium mineral sources (or from natural-gas hydrogen sulfide neutralised with sodium hydroxide). Either route is classed as mineral, non-petroleum origin under ISO 16128.
In plain English
An inorganic mineral salt used as a depilatory to chemically loosen hair. Manufactured from mined sulfur and sodium sources, classed as mineral rather than renewable-plant origin.
