How we scored it
Where it comes from
Produced by fermenting genetically engineered E. coli expressing a human vasoactive-intestinal-peptide-identical sequence built from standard amino acids. No petrochemical alternative route is used commercially.
In plain English
A lab-made copy of a human nerve-signalling peptide (VIP), produced by fermenting engineered bacteria. Used to condition skin and hair.
CosIng definition: sh-Polypeptide-71 is a single chain synthetic human peptide, produced by fermentation in E. coli. The starting gene is a synthesized copy of the human gene which codes for Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide used as such or adapted to the production host.
