How we scored it
Essential oil: camphor, 1,8-cineole, pinenes and other terpenoids isolated from the herb, nothing synthetic added. Natural 1.0 / total 1.0 = 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Steam distillation of the flowering herb of Spanish sage (Salvia lavandulifolia), grown mainly in Spain. Blended or reconstituted fragrance versions are a different product and not what this name describes.
In plain English
The essential oil steam-distilled from the herb of Spanish sage, a Mediterranean plant, used to add scent to products. Its aroma comes from natural plant compounds, mainly camphor and cineole.
CosIng definition: Salvia Lavandulifolia Herb Oil is an essential oil obtained from the herbs of the Sage, Salvia lavandulifolia, Lamiaceae
