How we scored it
Fermentation product plus a natural mineral ion (copper); this site's convention = 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Made by fermenting a nutrient substrate with Saccharomyces yeast in the presence of copper salts. No synthetic route exists; the process is inherently biological.
In plain English
A skin-conditioning ingredient made by fermenting yeast together with copper minerals. It's a natural fermentation product used to deliver trace minerals to skin.
CosIng definition: Saccharomyces/Copper Ferment is an extract of the product obtained by the fermentation of Saccharomyces in the presence of copper ions
