How we scored it
Callus is plant-cell biomass grown on a sugar-based nutrient medium; all retained atoms are cell material of natural origin. Medium additives leave no mass. Natural 1.0 / total 1.0 = 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Cloudberry callus (undifferentiated plant cells) is grown in flasks or bioreactors on a nutrient medium, then harvested or processed. Culture additives such as growth regulators leave no mass in the product.
In plain English
Cultured cells (callus) of the cloudberry, an arctic berry plant, grown in a laboratory nutrient medium instead of being harvested from fields. It is used for skin conditioning and consists of the plant cells' own natural compounds.
CosIng definition: Rubus Chamaemorus Callus is the callus of Rubus chamaemorus grown in culture, Rosacea.
