How we scored it
Glycine (amino acid) acylated with coconut fatty acid, potassium salt; all fragments natural-origin → 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Made by acylating glycine with coconut or palm kernel fatty acids and neutralising with potassium hydroxide. No petrochemical route is used commercially.
In plain English
A gentle, coconut-derived cleansing agent found in mild shampoos and face washes, made from coconut fatty acids and a simple amino acid.
Structure
potassium;(E)-octadec-9-enoic acid;2-(octanoylamino)acetic acid
