How we scored it
Glutamic acid (fermentation) + coco fatty acyl (coconut oil) + K+ counter-ion; all fragments natural, no petrochemical atoms remain → 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Made by acylating fermentation-derived glutamic acid with coconut/palm kernel fatty acids, then neutralising with potassium hydroxide. No alternative petrochemical route is used commercially.
In plain English
A mild, coconut-derived cleansing and conditioning agent used in gentle shampoos and face washes; made from coconut fatty acids combined with a fermented amino acid, then buffered with potassium.
CosIng definition: Glutamic acid, N-coco acyl derivs., monopotassium salts
