How we scored it
Extract of neem leaves; all constituents plant-derived (n=1); solvent leaves no mass. 1 / 1 = 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Leaves of the neem tree, grown mainly in India, are extracted with water, alcohol or a glycol and concentrated. No synthetic route exists; any carrier solvent is declared separately on the INCI.
