How we scored it
Partial hydrolysate of natural lecithin (glycerophosphocholine + one C16 fatty acyl group); all atoms trace to the parent phospholipid, hydrolysis removes one acyl chain only.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Lysolecithin is made by partial enzymatic hydrolysis of natural lecithin (from soybean or egg), removing one fatty acyl group to leave a lysophospholipid. All atoms originate in the parent natural phospholipid.
In plain English
An emulsifying ingredient made from soy or egg lecithin that has been partly broken down by enzymes. It remains fully derived from the natural phospholipid it comes from.
CosIng definition: Lecithins, hydrolyzed
Structure
(3-hexadecanoyloxy-2-hydroxypropyl) 2-(trimethylazaniumyl)ethyl phosphate
