How we scored it
Plant wax (long-chain esters, alcohols, acids, alkanes) from henna leaf, all n=1. 1.00 / 1.00 = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
The wax fraction is recovered from henna leaf by extraction and filtering, as CosIng describes. No synthetic route exists; petroleum waxes such as paraffin are different ingredients.
In plain English
A hair-conditioning ingredient: a plant wax obtained from the leaves of the henna plant (Lawsonia inermis). It is a mixture of waxy compounds from the leaf surface rather than a single chemical.
CosIng definition: Lawsonia Inermis (Henna) Wax is the wax obtained from the leaf of the henna, Lawsonia inermis, Lythraceae.
