How we scored it
Controlled hydrogenation of rice bran oil; hydrogen addition leaves no mass, all carbons remain rice-bran-oil-derived (precedent).
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Hydrogenated Rice Bran Oil is made by controlled hydrogenation of Oryza sativa bran oil, saturating its double bonds. All carbons trace to the natural rice bran oil.
In plain English
A skin- and hair-conditioning ingredient made by hardening rice bran oil through hydrogenation. It stays fully plant-derived, similar to how vegetable oil is turned into a solid fat.
CosIng definition: Hydrogenated Rice Bran Oil is the end-product of the controlled hydrogenation of Oryza Sativa Bran Oil
