How we scored it
Herb extract: resin acids (grindelic acids), flavonoids and terpenes are plant-derived (terpenes natural, b); solvent leaves no mass. Natural mass fraction 1/1 = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant feedstock is the resinous flowering herb of gumweed (Grindelia camporum), extracted with ethanol, water or a cosmetic glycol. No synthetic route exists.
In plain English
A tonic plant extract for skin-care products. It is made from the herb of Grindelia camporum, a sticky, resin-coated gumweed native to California, extracted in a solvent.
CosIng definition: Grindelia Camporum Extract is an extract of the herb of the Rosyn Weed, Grindelia camporum, Asteraceae
