Is Glyceryl Hydrogenated Rosinate natural?

Yes. Glycerol and pine-resin rosin acids are both natural feedstocks; H2 used in hydrogenation leaves no mass.

How we scored it

Glycerol (natural) esterified with hydrogenated pine rosin acids (natural); hydrogenation and esterification add no petro mass.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.

Where it comes from

Made by esterifying glycerol with hydrogenated rosin acids derived from pine tree resin (gum or tall-oil rosin). Hydrogenation saturates double bonds for stability but adds only hydrogen, not counted against natural origin.

In plain English

A film-forming ingredient made by combining plant glycerin with hardened pine resin acids. Used to create a smooth, flexible film on skin or hair, for example in mascaras or styling products. Derived from pine trees.

CosIng definition: Resin acids and Rosin acids, hydrogenated, esters with glycerol
