How we scored it
Whole algal extract; all mass traceable to the seaweed feedstock.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Extracted from the red seaweed Gelidium amansii, the same species commonly harvested for agar production. No synthetic alternative route exists.
In plain English
An extract from red seaweed used to condition skin. It comes straight from the harvested algae through simple extraction, the same seaweed used to make agar.
CosIng definition: Gelidium Amansii Extract is the extract of the alga, Gelidium amansii
