How we scored it
Fruit-rind extract: organic acids (hydroxycitric acid and salts), polyphenols and pigments are plant-derived; any K or Ca counter-ion is mineral natural origin. 1/1 = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant feedstock is the dried fruit rind of Garcinia cambogia (gamboge or Malabar tamarind), extracted with water or ethanol. No synthetic route exists for the extract.
