How we scored it
Fruit (seed) extract: every atom from plant material, including volatile terpenes (natural, b); solvent leaves no mass. Natural mass fraction 1/1 = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant feedstock is dried fruits (seeds) of sweet fennel (Foeniculum vulgare var. dulce), extracted with ethanol, CO2 or a cosmetic glycol. No synthetic route exists for the extract itself.
In plain English
A plant extract used to add fragrance, with a sweet aniseed-like aroma. It is made from the dried fruits (seeds) of sweet fennel, extracted in a solvent.
