How we scored it
Extract of oleo-gum-resin: terpene hydrocarbons (natural, b), sesquiterpene coumarins and gum polysaccharides are all plant exudate constituents; solvent leaves no mass. 1/1 = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant feedstock is galbanum oleo-gum-resin, the dried sap exuded by cut stems of wild-collected Ferula galbaniflua, extracted with solvent. No synthetic route exists; synthetic galbanum-type fragrance molecules are separate ingredients.
In plain English
Added mainly for its green, resinous fragrance; CosIng also lists antimicrobial and tonic functions. It is an extract of galbanum, the dried sap-resin from the stems of a giant-fennel relative.
CosIng definition: "Galbanum Gum Extract". Ferula Galbaniflua Gum Extract is an extract of the gum of the Galbanum, Ferula galbaniflua, Apiaceae
