How we scored it
Flower extract: every atom comes from plant material; extraction solvent leaves no mass. Natural mass fraction 1/1 = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant feedstock is the flowers of European beech (Fagus sylvatica), extracted with water, ethanol or a cosmetic glycol. No synthetic route exists.
In plain English

CosIng definition: Fagus Sylvatica Flower Extract is the extract of the flowers of Fagus sylvatica, Fagaceae.
