Solvent-extracted lichen concrete: depsides, aromatics, resins and waxes from the fungal-algal organism; hexane leaves no mass. Natural mass fraction 1/1 = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant feedstock is treemoss lichen collected from spruce and fir trunks and branches, solvent-extracted to a waxy concrete. Ethanol-washed absolute forms are the same material refined further; no synthetic route exists.
