How we scored it
Palm heart extract: all atoms from plant tissue; solvent leaves no mass. Natural mass fraction 1/1 = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant feedstock is the palm heart (the soft inner stem core) of the acai palm (Euterpe oleracea), extracted with water, ethanol or a cosmetic glycol. No synthetic route exists.
