How we scored it
Fruit extract: every atom comes from plant material (sugars, anthocyanins, fibre fragments, lipids); extraction solvent leaves no mass. Natural mass fraction 1/1 = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant feedstock is the fruit of the jucara palm (Euterpe edulis), a close relative of acai, extracted with water, ethanol or a cosmetic glycol. No synthetic route exists; carrier solvents are separate INCI entries.
In plain English
A skin-conditioning ingredient. It is a plant extract made from the fruit of the jucara palm, a relative of the acai palm from the Brazilian Atlantic forest, extracted in a solvent.
CosIng definition: Euterpe Edulis Fruit Extract is the extract of the fruit of Euterpe edulis, Arecaceae
