How we scored it
Dried pressed juice (n = 1): sugars, fruit acids, tannins and polyphenols all plant-derived; any starch-based drying aid is also natural. 1.0 / 1.0 = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant route is pressing amla fruit and spray- or vacuum-drying the juice, sometimes with a maltodextrin carrier. No commercially significant synthetic route exists.
In plain English
A powder made by drying the juice pressed from amla (Indian gooseberry) fruit, used as an astringent to give skin a tightened feel. It carries the fruit's natural acids, tannins and polyphenols.
CosIng definition: Emblica Officinalis Fruit Juice Powder is the powder obtained from the dried juice after expression from the fruit of Emblica officinalis, Phyllanthaceae.
