How we scored it
Hydrolysate of animal elastin protein, broken down to amino acids and peptides; natural origin per hydrolysed-protein convention.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Produced by acid, alkali or enzymatic hydrolysis of elastin from animal connective tissue, commonly bovine. No synthetic route is used commercially.
In plain English
A blend of amino acids from hydrolysed animal elastin, a stretchy connective-tissue protein. Used in hair and skin products to help condition.
CosIng definition: Elastins, hydrolyzates
