How we scored it
Whole algal extract; entirely seaweed-derived mass.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Extracted from Eisenia bicyclis, a brown seaweed also eaten as 'arame' in Japanese cuisine. No synthetic route exists.
In plain English
An extract from arame, an edible brown seaweed, used to condition and protect skin. It's produced by simple extraction from the harvested seaweed.
CosIng definition: Eisenia Bicyclis Extract is the extract of the alga Eisenia bicyclis.
