How we scored it
Botanical extract (n = 1): rhizome terpenoids, phenolics, starch and sugars all plant-derived; no synthetic fragment. 1.0 / 1.0 = 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Dominant route is solvent extraction (water, glycerin or ethanol-water) of dried mango-ginger rhizome; the solvent is not part of the INCI ingredient. No commercially significant synthetic route exists.
In plain English
An extract of the rhizome of mango ginger (Curcuma amada), a turmeric relative, used to condition skin. It holds the rhizome's natural plant compounds, drawn out with a solvent, and is entirely plant-derived.
CosIng definition: Curcuma Amada Rhizome Extract is the extract of the rhizomes of Curcuma amada, Zingiberaceae
