How we scored it
Cold-pressed peel oil, terpenes and aldehydes straight from the fruit; every atom is natural origin, 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Oil is mechanically expressed from the peel of mandarin fruit, mainly as a by-product of juice and fruit processing. There is no alternative route.
In plain English
Mandarin essential oil cold-pressed from the fruit peel. Added to products as a citrus fragrance. It comes straight from the fruit with no chemical conversion.
CosIng definition: Citrus Nobilis Peel Oil Expressed is an essential oil expressed from the epicarps of the Mandarin, Citrus nobilis, Rutaceae
