How we scored it
Mandarin essential oil: mainly limonene with minor terpenes and aldehydes, all natural-origin terpenes of an essential oil (n=1, b). 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Oil from the fruit peel of mandarin (Citrus nobilis, also called Citrus reticulata), obtained by cold pressing or steam distillation. Rectified or terpene-reduced grades exist but remain plant-derived.
