How we scored it
Water (n=1) plus volatile terpenes and aroma compounds from steam-distilled yuzu peel (n=1); nothing petrochemical in the final ingredient. 1.00.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Peel of Citrus junos (yuzu) is steam-distilled and the aqueous distillate (a hydrosol) is collected. No alternative route is commercially significant; any preservative in the commercial grade is declared separately.
In plain English
A scented water collected when yuzu peel is steam-distilled. In products it is used as a skin-conditioning ingredient. It is made only of water and the peel's own volatile aroma compounds.
CosIng definition: Citrus Junos Peel Water is an aqueous solution of the steam distillate obtained from the peel of Citrus junos
