How we scored it
Whole-herb extract: every constituent is plant-derived (n=1); extraction solvent leaves no mass in the ingredient. 1 / 1 = 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
The aerial parts of cultivated feverfew are extracted with water, alcohol or a glycol and the liquid is concentrated. No synthetic route exists; any carrier solvent is declared separately on the INCI.
In plain English
A concentrated extract of the feverfew herb, used in skincare for its skin-conditioning role. It is made by steeping the herb in a solvent such as water, alcohol or glycol and concentrating the liquid.
CosIng definition: Chrysanthemum Parthenium Extract is an extract of the herb of the feverfew, Chrysanthemum parthenium, Asteraceae
