How we scored it
Botanical extract of flowers; this site's convention rates all plant extracts 1.0 regardless of extraction solvent used.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Produced by extracting the dried or fresh flowers of Chrysanthemum indicum with water, ethanol or glycols. The plant material supplies all of the extract's mass.
In plain English
A plant extract made by steeping chrysanthemum flowers to draw out their compounds. Used as a skin-conditioning ingredient in creams and lotions.
CosIng definition: Chrysanthemum Indicum Flower Extract is the extract of the flowers of Chrysanthemum indicum L., Asteraceae
