How we scored it
Inorganic glass of Ca, Na, B and Si oxides; whole compound mineral-derived = 1.0.
What counts. ISO 16128-2 scores the atoms that remain in the final ingredient. Reagents, solvents, catalysts and protecting groups used during manufacture leave no mass behind and are not counted.
Where it comes from
Manufactured by melting silica sand, borax, limestone and soda ash together into a glass, then grinding it to powder. All feedstocks are mineral in origin.
