How we scored it
Where it comes from
Vegetable-oil dimer acid is partly reduced to dimer diol, esterified into an oligomeric polyester and end-capped with phytosterol, behenyl and isostearyl alcohols. Fatty alcohols are assumed oleochemical; some Ziegler or Guerbet grades exist, so add a supplier note.
In plain English
A soft, waxy emollient and thickener based on plant sterols and dimerised vegetable fatty acids. It adds cushion and slip to lipsticks, balms and creams and helps hold pigments and oils together.
